In modern society, concept of justice and equality goes to protect the rights of individuals through judicial and political system. A murder or rapist in USA or UK is always apprehended no matter how big is the rapist in his social standing or how small is the victim in society. Tell me if it was the case in Iraq and Afghanistan. Is it the case in Pakistan now?
Re-distribution of wealth through a just tax system (call it Zakat or Income tax) but the poor is protected and guaranteed a basic living. Again was it the case in both the countries under discussion. Trust me the list of factors that would come under this topic is endless and I will speak with references, but I know sitting in office your time is as important as anybody else's.
Obviously Loss of human life can never be a good result and I am no way trying to justify a war which did not have the UN mandate and one would not expect a good result out of it either.
I believe we already agreed on a previous occasion that a just non Muslim ruler is much better than an unjust Muslim ruler, this argument was agreed on this forum and is also backed up by authentic references.
Just one final note, even with all the hypocrisy about the war, the media reported a US soldier killing a wounded Iraqi, you would remember the incident. The US soldier was brought to justice and in this particular instance only Justice was done and it was seen to be done. Do we have a single example of such standing when our military was engaged in conflict in East Pakistan or would you say all of thme were angels that they did not make any mistake in which case I would like to gift you some books. Shows you how well we are in our social and moral instincts.
You might be surprised to know that a recent gesture by the UK Govt. not to adhere to the House of Lords ruling in the case of foreign suspects is a blow to their own standards of justice and equality and I remember at least two hours of discussion on this topic on the very day and the interviewer really roasted the minister on this issue. Did it ever happen in our countries? Can you really roast a minister on even a regional TV leave aside the national TV link.

If we were to close our eyes saying that justice and equality is idealistic, rest assured we are on course to extiniction. Before we blame others lets see what have we done for ourselves and our generations.
