This could be because of any or all of the reasons below
a) Our inferiority complex in front of the gora sahib, ie. even if we have worked upto the required standards, we feel that our work is not upto the standard of work our gora masters have asked us to perform.
b) we actually have "pelo-fied" the work earlier and now are trying to clear up the mess.
In my humble opinion and from what i have observed in my audit life, its a combination of both.

Arrrgh... it sure's gonna be mighty rough sailin' today ... mates!
they are able to update the files to the required level, shows they meet the standards. I think its the time strain that does not allow them to make their files upto standard. besides, I think updating a file later on, is no wrong-doing, provided your earlier work contained enough work to be able to get you an appropriate opinion on the client's fin. statements.
as to guybrush, I think point 'b' is more valid.
Paki,
what do we mean by STANDARDS??????
is it "Auditing Standards" or "Gora's Standards" ????
i think we are all talking about "Gora's Standards" <img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>
(Inferiority complex) Whenever we go to market the Salesman says, "Sir Purchase it bcaz it is the item of Export Quality"
RESTATED "Sir Purchase it bcaz GORAS like it" <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
