It is completely up to you that how many exams you want to take(max 4). If you don't want to appear for any, its your choice. You can take a gap of three years and no one would question you. However, you have to complete the exams within a time span of 10 years. If you are not able to do so and are still left with some papers to pass at the end of those 10 yrs, you will no longer be allowed to pursue ACCA.
