Education
Indian education system has grown out of its own economic requirements and world demand of its graduates. Though Pakistani professionals competed well in the international markets but I would attribute any success to individuals own efforts rather than the product of state planning. Why state planning didnât work in our country is another question.
Films
Reading the factual history, one could see that around 1960 the film industry of Pakistan exerted enormous pressure on the Government to announce a national film policy but our Selected leaders were busy infighting. There were no democratic institutions which could provide a platform for elected members to raise issues in the Assembly so no was action taken. The second effort was launched after 1975 but Amir-ul-momineen Huzrat Zia ul Haque was busy moving the country to the so-called Islamic mode. What was the Islamic mode even Zia did not know himself.
The net effect of this neglect led to the downfall of national film industry (urdu movies) and the vacuum was filed by the regional movies, so loads of good punjabi movies came out in punjab. Unfortunately punjabi movies or pashto movies cant compete internationally. Indians adopted a unified national film policy and there industry grew, this coupled with the fact that they have bigger audience numbers provided the much needed profitability. However, there has been some good efforts from Pakistan but again on individual level, the most recent one being from Javaid Shaikh.
