Hey guys,
Well I had the chance of studying Financial Reporting Standards during my time, and frankly speaking it was disappointing for two reasons
Accounting is all about numbers, and I love learning through simple illustrations and basic examples. Even very difficult concepts can be understood with the help of simple examples. But the standards, are for the most part boring text, and the illustrative examples which they have provided are also either too complex (in some cases), or insufficient for the complete understanding of different paragraphs.
The second reason being, that the teacher we had (although he was a Qualified CA plus CMA) but his method of teaching did not quite benefit us regarding understanding the practical implementation of standards.
Interestingly enough, at that time, we were unable to find any quality book on IFRS practical implementation, one that provides detailed examples (other than copying from IFRS book).
Does anyone know of such a book? If so, kindly provide information.
Thanks.
