Irrational Approach By ICAP Regarding Papers?

Why the ICAP's papers are extra ordinary lengthy? So that when students write the answers briefly, they comment that students wrote too much breifly.

Sometimes, I think that; is it rational approach. Take the example of theoretical subjects like Economics, Law, IT etc. Minimum 8 and maximum 12 questions are asked and each one have further three/four/five sub-questions. Marks are assigned like (4), (5), (7). Hardly, a question is assigned it's deserving marks.

How much we can write about 20 or 30 marks question when it's assigned just 4 or 5 marks. How we will be able to complete the paper. It happend to me many times that I inspite of brilliant preparations could not solve the whole paper in time. I've got ditched.

I need the comments and pieces of advise from senior CA students.

Hi im mod C student, dear it is hardly possible that u r able to solve the whole paper correctly n have understood the Qs properly n u get refer in tht paper ... if this is the case unfortunately than increase ur writing speed or i'll say improve ur handwriting.. if u have attempted 90% paper correctly than u ll get it pass.. it is my experience ..n it is wht i feel by participating in 4 regular attempts at ICAP,,, lets see wht other fellows think.. am i rite???????

Is it possible that one can get passed the paper especially theoratical like "Economics" by attempting 75% paper and the written material is accurate and absolutely correct as well as relevant at least 75%?

dear y to attempt just 75% , u said that many times u had brilliant preprations but u r not able to solve whole paper.. the only reason could be time shortage...

n by solving just 75% eco paper.. it is difficult to get it pass.. coz u also know well k if we know the answer we write so many irrelevant thgs.. only few students care about marks allocation.. so write to the point and try to atempt atleast 90% paper accurately so than u 'll INsHALLAH surely get it pass.. .. read PBP study text "COMPLETELY"

I am in mod D and i still can't understand the theory based papers but as far as Maths based papers i've a very nice experience.

In stat math i attempted 70% of paper and got B grade, In Accounting i did 70% and my balance sheet did not tally i got B grade, In Advance accounting My Balance sheet and Cash flow did'nt tally and missed the whole theory section, got B grade, In cost i did only 56 marks paper, i got B grade.

IMHO if one has done only 50% of paper and done it well then one have the chance, but can't say nothing about theory based papers.

In Paper<A2>-QMT, I attempted 68% marks paper (even only Business Mathematics portion) & luckily got passed with Grade-B, (only a single part of 5 marks statistics portion was attempted)

In Paper<B4>-IFA, I attempted 70% marks paper only portion & luckily got passed with Grade-B.

In Paper<D11>-AUD, I attempted 65%-70% marks paper & luckily got passed with Grade-C. (Important ISAs were not prepared. e.g; Risk Assessment & Control, Audit Evidence, Vouching & Verification etc).

Even today, I'm unable to solve the whole/full paper of ICAP, but by grace of ALLAH, I'm getting passed.

Thanks a lot my seniors CAs. I've got the idea from your valuable comments and that's more than enough. It's going to help me a lot in my comming exams.

Although it may be possible for some students having extra-ordinary intelligence, birilliant preparations and massive legible writing speed to solve the whole paper of ICAP offering absolutely relevent material in reasonable detail required but it's not mandatory as my very respectful seniors "Muhammad Adnan Arshad" and "wasrana" has commented.

In short, one must attempt reasonable percentage according to the paper's difficulty level but must not forget to offer relevent requirements of the attempted questions inspite of writing lavishly irrelevant without giving reasonable explanations, illustrations etc. in order to just acheive the goal of attempting 100% paper.

As "Reasonable Quality & Quantity" REALLY DOES MATTER over the "Meagre Quality alongwith Whole Quantity" !
