Dear sariyahawan1,
Your information about CAT is a bit on a weaker side, I dun think it requires 18 months to complete CAT.

One can complete it in 12 months, but for CAT what matters is your future planning, self confidence and the study hours which you give to your studies.

Infact I have completed CAT in a period of Six months.

Completing CAT is a very wise decision, Consider the following benefits

* Before transferring to ACCA, one have a very good experience of paper based examinations.
* The exemptions which are awarded are worthless.
* There is a great distinction between a person who has completed CAT and a person who has transferred to ACCA after passing T5.
* There is a little cost saving in completing CAT.
* T9 paper of CAT is 95% of the F6 paper of ACCA.
* The student is very much familiar with the topics of ACCA paper F5, F7 and F9.

What people perceive the CAT qualification is very much contrary to what it really is.
It gives you a great knowledge and is a key in passing the ACCA papers in first attempt and with flying marks, Dat is what I pereive atleast.
