We are seeing the worst cases of water contamination in Karachi. Thousands have been affected and tens killed.
It is strange what the Health minister is doing and what is the government doing.... they appear sleeping....
similiar thing had happened in June of 2003

... I heard the other day shoukat aziz saying clean water for everyone by 2007.... what a joke..
.. Haven't heard of a city other than karachi where half of it is supplied by water tankers instead of water pipes...
A study (conducted in 1997 in Karachi)found on US CDC website http//www.cdc.gov/safewater/publications_pages/2001/luby_2001.pdf
reveals that water cleaning system based on chlorine could have a dramatic effect on cleanliness of water upto 99% free from e-coli and other bacteria. the cost for these system based on simple vessel design was projected at US$3-4.
How would people not buy it if it were not made broadly available after that study?
Shame on the sucessive governments...
