platinum status is of course better than gold when we talk about ACCA's standards of tutoring. even though i am not from uk, but i think that kaplan will be a better choice since it is also an approved publisher as well.

im doing ACCA and interested in having my last papers from uk.
I totally agree wid u regarding ur first choice as KAPLAN.

as per dard, i think top up degrees dont really add anything to your CV since the colleges that offer them like birminghim city uni, london south bank etc are not very well rated colleges in the UK. if you check the times best university ranking, you will find that all these are ranked below 80-100 so dont consider that as a good option.

waisay, why are you looking to spend so much for passing the same paper when you can easily study the same here from better teachers ( im saying this bcz teachers here are committed and give a lot more time, in the uk you get very few classes, check on the website, the amount of time they give is seriously low)

1. an international exposure.
2. TO IMPROVE JOB PROSPECTS.
THERE IS A remarkable DIFFERENCE WHEN WE ARE TALKING ABOUT THE QUALITY OF EDUCATION.HAVE U EVER TINK Y THE STUDENTS OF UK GET HIGHEST MARKS....?bt not 4m pakistan(EXCLUDING GENIUS PEOPLE)

just take an example
2 personS appeaRING FOR A JOB INTERVIEW. BOTH HAVING AN ACCA DEGREE.
one qualifies from a renowned institution from pakistan(name intentionally not mentioned) and other from uk.
although competence depends on the student,who so ever works hard will win the race whether from uk or pakistan or from sumwhere elz

dont u tink so that employer shud prefer a person having an international exposure?
do correct me if im wrong

last 6 ACCA papers will cost round about Rs4-4.50 lacs(rougHLY).

TAKE ANOTHER EXAMPLE ................

AN MBA GRADUATE FROM NUST,IBA or even LUMS
AND AN MBA GRADUATE FROM LBS(UK)OR HBS(USA) ?

WHAT U TINK WHICH ONE WILL BE PREFERABLE?

ALTHOUGH doing ACCA from uk is costly but its worth spending .....

sorry i dont buy that. i beg to differ. you are basically comparing apples with oranges. when you talk of ACCA, it is a qualification and not a degree. pass it from anywhere and you are an acca. however, when you compare lums with harvard, i think you are stretching it a bit. Im proud that our country has institutions like LUMS and their MBAs are doing great.

i gave an example in an earlier thread to someone who shared the same views as you. Shaukat tarin and Shaukat Aziz are both IBA Grads. IBA is no where near LBS or HBS but did that stop them from having internationally successful careers?? no it did not. going abroad for education is great but when you go to harvard, you have a harvard degree (and mind you, getting into LBS or HBS is 100 times difficult then getting into LUMS), but how will kaplan financial add anything to your CV.

Mehnat kar bhai or apni skills ko improve karo.

ok aap pakistan al-khair university sai MBA kar lo,

den aap LUMS sai MBA kar lo ...............

u will feel da difference ...........
u will c ur market demand......
on da basis of al khair university and LUMS .

JUB pakistan mai rehty huay itni discrimination hai between institutions ....

den y not in foreign,
ofcourse foreign qualified would be preferred over both....
same case wid ACCA.......

i still don't buy that. ACCA is ACCA from wherever you do it. as i said earlier, of course university does play a big role but when it comes to degrees not professional qualification. no one will ask you whether you studies acca from bpp or cams. its not mba my friend.

Personally I'd recommend LSBF, my brother has done 6 papers with them and 5 out of 6 he passed for the first time. For the paper that he failed he received free revision so he was able to track his mistakes and retake it.[)]

nodoubt lsbf ,an outstanding school ESTABLISHED 6-8 MONTHS back and has a gold status for 2010.lsbf fee a bit lower dan ftc and also offers attracttive packages.LIK acca+mba/acca+msc.ukba ranking
(HIGHLY TRUSTED )

and ftc,established more than 15 yrs back and it is an official publisher of ACCA.got platinum status for 2010.UKBA RAKING
(A RATED)students of ftc achieved highest marks but hv u ever heard of any lsbf student reaching at d top

ftc will refund ur fee incase of visa rufusal but lsbf will not.

bhai fees refund is a big factor so dont take risk bcz khudanakhwasta agar visa is rejected, you will lose a big amount of money. dont take that risk

if u complted ur acca partly from pakistan and partly for uk e.g. last 6 papers form uk's university . will it considered by uk's university ?

i dont know any thing about acca but to improve my knowledge . the degree we got after completation ok acca , will the name of instititute from where u complted ur acca mentioned on that ?

what i got from all discussion mba is different thing if u do mba from lums u have a degree of lums and if u do mba from uk's university u have degree of that college but if u completed ur acca wether from pakistan or uk u will have the degree of acca not of any university
m i right ?

there may be , not may be there is definately the difference of teaching standard and teachers which will make it easy for you to complete ur acca earlier and easily

first of all, acca is not a degree. it is a professional qualification. there will nothing on your passing certificate of whatever you want to call it that will mention the name of the institute. acca is not concerned with where you study from. you may take tuition or self-study. you are an acca or you are not an acca. there is nothing like an acca from cams or acca from bpp.
