According to the newspapers Mukhtaran Mai the victim of Meerawala gang raped married the other day with a police constable. It is nice she has a married life. It is too difficult to explain what terrible treatment she met. ALLAH the Great may save all women anywhere from that happening (Ameen).
She has married a man who already has a wife with 5 children. Mukhtaran Mai before marriage demanded he divorces his first wife which he could not. Later according to published details Mukhtaran forced him to stay at her home and that she would not go to her in-laws.
Mukhtar Mai suffered and as a courageous lady instead of sitting home shedding tears opted to fight for others. It was what hardly could be expected even from educated urban resident women whereas from a remote village women. The world appreciated her but unfortunately due to lack of education she played in the hands of professional so called human rights activists. There should not be any doubt that these are the women themselves (a group) who are damaging their own rights and in fact are causing damage to the women. In the Gulf Arabia Bahrain last month a Filipino going home was pulled inside a car, taken to a remote desert and gang raped by three Bahraini young men of 19, 20 and 21 years. In the court their Defence Lawyer, Miss Fatima Al Hawaja, herself a woman, argued that these three were the teenagers who mostly in this age do such activities just for fun. She argued that their activity of gang raping was just a "harmless fun without intending to harm anyone and do any criminal act". Though the religion allows 4 marriages but in our eastern society the biggest injustice done to a married women is treated coming of a second wife (Sonkaan on her). This is the most insulting behavior treated in our society. The so called human and women rights activist compelled her husband first to divorce her first wife depriving her children from father's blessing, This is just a point to ponder. The readers would not have forgotten that soon innocent Mukhtaran mai was encircled by professional human rights activists. One Multan based lady running a home made NGO was in forefront. She got Mukhtaran Mai insured with a huge amount which fetched Rs. 50 lac commission to this lady's nephew. And this commission was paid from the money which right from Pakistan to USA poured to Mukhtaran to help in her desire to educate women of her area after Ardeshir Cowasjee wrote a column. This money came for poor village girls education not for insurance. Mukhtaran will not live in her husband's home but her husband would be a "Ghar Jawavi". Mukhtarran Mai a women!
