Salam to everyone,
I am Awais from Islamabad. I recently re-discovered this site in my bookmarks after it managed to stay hid for some good 2-3 years. Anyway going through the forum I found that there r some very helpful and knowledgeable people around..and help is something I could definitely use.
Alrighty. Here's the deal I've completed my BBA in May/June this year and right now I am contemplating applying to several Universities abroad for admission. My objective, eventually, is to be able to complete the CFA examination successfully, AND if I can get a foreign passport in the process would be just fantabulous. I need ur advice to help me decide which is the best way to go about it. I am applying to
Masters of Professional Accounting - Melbourne University
Masters of Professional Accounting - Monash University
The courses approximately take two years to complete and upon successful completion, a student is given membership into the Australian Accountants body. Now a friend in Australia has told me that Accountancy jobs in Australia are in great demand and with the membership into this body, getting a Permanent Residency is relatively easy too, takes around 3 years.
Monash also offers Masters of Applied Finance and Masters of Business in Banking and Finance. these two degrees don't lead to professional recognition or membership but they are just as relevant.confused confused
The second option is to apply to
MS in Money Banking and Finance at University of Manchester (One year Prog)
(or other Universities and Programs of similar nature)
Get a job in a Bank/Fina. Inst and then attempt the CFA papers.
Lastly, there is the option of Canada. Windsor University has a one year Masters of Accountancy course and Brock has one year MBA (avg. standing). I have relatives there who can help me stay there and settle in. So I continue to prepare for CFA and attempt at an appropriate time. Chances of PR in Canada r good too.
As extreme backup, I am also applying to Lahore School of Eco and IBM Karachi.
So what do I do???
Help appreciated.
