well... i don't have much info on the equivalency but probably you've to do MPhil.

but i do have information about other things you'r asking

PhD usually takes 3 to 5 years.

HEC regularly advertises scholarships for PhD. Usually they are MS leading to PhD or MPhil leading to PhD.

You'll qualify through a GRE type test taken by NTC. Its not a very tough thing usually, I've seen many mediocore people qualifying & going for PhD abroad.



Contact HEC, ask if any scholarships are still available & apply for them.
