Practically speaking, working of women depends on family structure. There are different cultures, customs and family norms that make it easy or difficult for a woman to work and she must consider these issues either before marriage or after marriage when she has to decide whether to work or not. For example, in a typical Pathan family and a modern Lahorian family the choices are totally different.

Therefore when you make a choice, think of your own life, your family structure etc. What is Better for others may be worse for me.

Those who MUST work due to financial problems, is a separate issue. With others, I believe that House Wife does not mean Idle Wife. Being House Wife is a full time job, specially with respect to taking care and raising children. Very few people know that 'Cooking' in Islam is not the duty of a woman, it's the duty of man to provide food for family. To make it short, I believe House Wife is better but she must fulfill her responsibilities (Men are in more need to know their responsibilities as well).

An Observation

Many people know the differences of likes and choices but they make the mistake of being emotional that "I will adjust" or "(S)he will adjust".

In most of the cases, these adjustments are never made. In some cases, the adjustments are made but for how long? and with how much mental pressure?

Seriously, to think of changing yourself or the otherself may prove to be the biggest mistake.
