Hi
I wana know about the Value Of A Pakistani Chartered Accountant.

I'm sure our senior members who are ACAs themselves would shed some light on this issue, assuming they have been on audits outside Pakistan.

Well most of the pakistani CAs are earning good in Middle east countries, but some of my friends have came back bcaz the indian CAs are ready to work on the salaries less than paki CAs.

yeah indians work for lesser pay than the average pakistani.it applies to all professions and also that of the CA.

the fact that most Indian qualified CAs earn less than Pakistani qualified CAs is in a way proof that Pakistani CAs are regarded better and more competent then their Indian counterparts. ICAP since the beginig has maintained high levels of perfection and only the best get through the tough exams assuring that the qualified member is a thorough professional. with that in view it has been observed that the Indian, Canadian, SriLankan or Australian Institutes have not been as strict with their passing criteria and so the number of members they have is much larger, leaving the population factor aside. employers over the world know who to hire for what and at what pay. with membership statistics, course durations, contenet, training periods etc they have all thre knowledge required to hire the right person for the right job at the right pay. and we must feel proud to know that the Pakistani CA is readily accepted all over the world for top management and finance positions. even in the US! wher the systems are different. in the middleast too pakistani CAs are employed in high positions earning A LOT of money. i personally know pakistani CAs in the middleeast earning upto DHS/SR 60000 a month which is around Rs. 900000 every month! of course that comes after a lot of experience at the right place with consitency. in the UK too Pakistani CAs fit in every where.
so though pakistani may find competition from CAs coming from other countries' bodies on basis of pay etc but it is assured that when an emplyer wants quality at top level they will go for one from a more credible body. ICAEW being at the top, but with statistics we know ICAP is not much behind.
