to an extent your friend may be right but it depends a lot on person to person. Furthermore, you have to weight down different options available to you in terms of their relative strengths and weaknesses.

For eg., if you can into, say, szabist for mba, that would be a better option but that does not make ACCA worthless nor does it mean that szabist mba is the end of the world.. Another option would be CIMA whcih is another very good qualification. They even offer exemptions to bcom..
